Easter Garden

Hi there ๐Ÿ™‚ย  My last Easter card for this year, I think….considering I don’t really give them out, lol.ย  This card features a cute little coloring page by Molly Harrison, that I sized down to use on a card. I colored the image with my Copic and SN markers, then added some shimmer to the wings with Wink of Stella (which, of course, you can’t see in the photo!) and also added a gold frame with a metallic marker.ย  The little flower print paper really fit with the spring feel of the image, as did the colored CS that I used for the background and the stitched die cut banners.ย  I added a little extra interest and detail by distressing the print paper, tucking a doily between some layers, adding some cross stitch detail and some gold pearls.ย  Now, I wish that the weather here would figure out that it was spring, and quit with the snow already!!

I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday – #522 Easter

Papercraft Challenges – #8 Bunnies for Easter

A Gem of a Challenge – #215 Easter Time

As You Like It Challenge – Favorite Easter Character –> Bunny!!! Why? I think this was the first animal that I ever associated with Easter as a child, and it just stuck!! Plus, the Easter Bunny brings chocolate, so of course I love him ๐Ÿ˜‰

Spring Wings

Good morning ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I have a spring-y card for you today.ย  It’s slowly starting to feel like spring here, even though Mother Nature decides to dump a bunch of snow on us every once in awhile!! It melts fast, though, which leaves a mucky, slushy mess…..but I’m not complaining!!ย  Anyway, back to my card!ย  I used a gorgeous image from Ching-Chou Kuik, called Spring Charm.ย  I colored her up with my Copic and SN markers, using a white gel pen for a few tiny accents.ย  I was a bit stumped as to the layout for my project, until I came across this sketch, from Feeling Sketchy.

Sketch #189

I flipped the sketch on it’s side to use it, and went to work ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I die cut a butterfly border from a scrap of orange CS, and adhered it to the edge of the image.ย  I found the lace and the ribbon in my stash, and after placing them, added a sentiment on a small tag, a bow, and a pretty Petal Lu flower ๐Ÿ™‚ย  ย All the layers are popped up with dimensional foam to give the card a little more interest (and add to the shipping fees, lol).

I’d like to enter this in the following challenges:

Happy Easter

Hi there!! Thanks for stopping by ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I don’t give out a lot of Easter cards, but like to have a few on hand, just in case.ย  So it worked out great with the new challenge over at C.R.A.F.T., with the theme being Easter/Spring ๐Ÿ™‚ย  We have a favorite sponsor back for this challenge, Eureka Stamps ๐Ÿ™‚

3 images of choice.

I was given Bunch of Eggs from our sponsor to use on my card.ย  I merged it with an Easter sentiment on my computer before printing it off and coloring it with my Copic and SN markers.ย  I wanted to keep the design of the card fairly simple, with having the sentiment and image all in one, so I decided to just go with the layers.ย  I went through my scraps, and found different colors that coordinated with the image, and layered them all with black.ย  I’m loving the clean look of this card!!

I’d like to enter the following with this:

I used one of the images from the Kitties digital stamp bundle that I was given to make my card.ย  I colored it with Copic markers, then fussy cut it out.ย  My mojo has been struggling lately, but I found a bit of it when I went through my papers and found this cute print.ย  I found some pink scraps that coordinated with the print, and cut one with a stitched square die, and the other with a stitched border edging die.ย  I found a couple charms, and strung them on thin black ribbon, which I attached to the card with a bow.ย  I used tiny black stickers, that I had hiding in my stash, for the sentiment ๐Ÿ™‚

Let Your Dreams Take Flight

Good morning ๐Ÿ™‚ย  The calendar says it’s spring, but it’s not quite feeling like it here though!! My inspiration card for the new challenge at the Sheepski Designs Facebook group feels spring-y, though ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Our challenges are ATG, but there’s always an optional twist to help the old mojo, and this month, it’s Spring Things.ย  There are so many gorgeous images to choose from Andrea’s Sheepski shop on Etsy, but this time, I picked one of her newer images….Butterfly Curl, to work with.ย  Don’t forget to use this discount code, if you find something you need!!

I printed the image up on some pretty teal paper, then colored it up with my Prismacolor pencils.ย  I loved the look of it so much, that I decided to leave it as a one layer, CAS card ๐Ÿ™‚ย  The sentiment that I found was perfect for the image, and I printed it on a piece of gold vellum that I had kicking around here.ย  It looks way more subtle in real life than the photo!!ย  To bring a bit more gold in, I used a MS sparkle pen to dot around the butterflies to give them an almost magical effect ๐Ÿ™‚

This challenge is all about those adorable, whimsical little creatures that Mitzi has been sharing with us, the Sprites!ย  Speaking of sharing with us, Mitzi has graciously extended this coupon code until the 20th of March!

No automatic alt text available.

As if that isn’t enough, Mitzi has created the lovely little Lilac Sprite as a special gift for you!! There’s no excuse not to get your Sprite on, with this fabulous freebie offer ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Just a warning, one is never enough of these little darlings!! ๐Ÿ™‚

As proof of my last statement, here is my inspiration project for the challenge.

Yup, just couldn’t stop at one…or two…..lol.ย  I’ve used the following Sprites for my tuxedo fold card.ย  Hydrangea Sprite; available at Aurorawings.com (png) or (jpg) and at Aurora Wings Etsy store (png) or (jpg). And the following, found exclusively at the Aurorawings.com store: Carnation Sprite (png) or (jpg); Daffodil Sprite (png) or (jpg); Tiger Lily Sprite (png) or (jpg) and Marigold 2 Sprite (png) or (jpg).ย  I colored up this garden of Sprites with my Copic and SN markers, then fussy cut them out.ย  I assembled the tuxedo fold card base from a pale mauve CS, then layered over it with die cut white lattice pieces.ย  A Cheery Lynn flower and butterfly border, some Tattered Lace die cut butterflies and a scalloped edge were added to make it look like the Sprites were frolicking in a whimsical garden.ย  I added some glitter to all the butterflies to give the project a wee bit of sparkle.ย  Here’s a few close ups to show a bit more of the detail ๐Ÿ™‚

Life is Better

Scrap N' Dipity
3 images of choice

Voucher for 15% off your order

I was given the Cowboy Silhouette image and theย  Better in Cowboy Bootsย greeting, both from DRS Designs, to use on my project.ย  I printed the silhouette on some paper that had a sunburst/sunset effect (it’s origami paper!) – I wanted it to look like they were riding in after a long day ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I printed the sentiment on the opposite side of the same paper, matted them both in black, and placed them on a background paper from the same pack.ย  A few diecut cowboy boots, some punched stars, and a twist of black twine finished this card off ๐Ÿ™‚ Another birthday card in my stash for all the cowboys/wanna be cowboys around here ๐Ÿ™‚

Joy to the World

Good morning ๐Ÿ™‚ย  As we dig out from massive amounts of snow, I’ll share with you my inspiration card for the new challenge over at C.R.A.F.T.ย  Our theme is Christmas, and we have the wonderful Lacy Sunshine sponsoring us ๐Ÿ™‚

Prize is 3 digital stamps from the Lacy Sunshine store.

I used Gertie Sweet Urchin for my card, and colored her up with Prismacolor pencils.ย  It’s been awhile since I did anything in a black and white monochrome, and I love how it gives this a more vintagey look than it already had!!

The background paper is from a pad that I got shortly after Christmas at Michael’s.ย  One of their Hot Buy pads, and it has quite a few really nice prints in it.ย  I also fussy cut the sentiment from another sheet from the same pad.ย  I cut the flowers, using a Cottage Cutz die, and after shaping and layering them, I added the centers with Liquid Pearls and some silver Stickles.ย  The silver gives just a touch of sparkle, a necessity on a Christmas card ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s great to be done another Christmas card for the year, and this time, I know exactly who the recipient is!!

I’d like to enter this in the following challenges:

Thanks, Foxy :)

Hello ๐Ÿ™‚ย  We just had a nasty blizzard, snowfall, freezing rain episode over the weekend here ๐Ÿ™ย  Now that Mother Nature has that out of her system, it’s time for Spring!!ย  This delightful little fox image is from AMB Illustrations, and the set that it comes from can be found here.ย  I colored this cutie with my Prismacolor pencils, then hemmed and hawed over what to do with it.ย  After taking a look through my completed cards, I saw that I was a bit short of “thank you” cards, so at least that was a start!!ย  My big AHA! moment came when I saw this sketch, at Sketch Saturday:

I found the rust colored background paper….it has a verrrry subtle print to it, but is the perfect color….and added some black strips for the other sketch element.ย  I decided to pull out a “thanks” die, and turn this into an eclipse card, while still keeping with the sketch.ย  I am thrilled with the finished result!!!ย  I love how the eclipse method gets a message across, yet still allows the image to be the focal point!!

Bunch of Bunnies

Hi there ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I was thrilled to be asked as GDT at Delicious Doodles this month!!ย  I’ve loved Teri’s art for a long time, so it’s a real honor ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Teri, and team for having me!!ย  The theme for March is March Hare/Rabbit, and I chose this cute image, Away With the Bunnies, to work with.ย  It can be found here at the Delicious Doodles Etsy shop.ย  I colored the image with my SN and Copic markers, adding a bit of Wink of Stella to the fairy wings to give them some sparkle.

I had some pink daisy flowers that went with the daisies in the image perfectly, so of course I had to use them as embellishment.ย  The background paper is a piece I had in my stash, and the bottom border of bunnies is punched with a MS punch that I forgot I had!!
