Simple Sympathy

Hi there 🙂 I was going through my card stash, and found that I was very low on sympathy cards – probably because they are difficult ones to make. I decided to continue with this years resolution of using the stuff that I have that’s been sitting around collecting dust. I embossed some feathers from the stamp set by the same name by Hot Off the Press. I used some cool Seth Apter embossing powder, although, now, I’m thinking that it doesn’t really give the detail of the feathers (but the patina is great!) I added a simple sympathy sentiment and a few coordinating pearls, before matting it with another slimline die cut. A very simple and understated card, but that’s how I like these ones 🙂

I’d like to enter this in the following:

Stamping Sensations – February ATG with the option of Wings or Tails (well….I used parts of wings, lol)

Pammie’s Inky Pinkies – #2206 ATG

Scrapping 4 Fun – #209 ATG

We Love Stamping – February ATG with option of using a stencil – didn’t use the option

  2. I get what you are saying about the EP not defining the feather detail but the colour is glorious and more than makes up for it. Wonderful card thank you for sharing with us at We Love Stamping and Good Luck xx

  4. I agree – an understated card but beautifully done! It is the perfect style for a sympathy card. The embossing is very nice and adds that right amount of texture. We appreciate you joining our challenge at PIP Challenges and hope to see you again soon! Thank you!
