Floral Sympathy

Hi there 🙂 I’m here with my inspiration piece for Creative Fingers Challenge Blog. All of our challenges are ATG, and we love to see your creations!! This time, we are sponsored by the one and only Bugaboo Stamps!! Jodie has an image for every occasion in her store, so it’s more than worthwhile to check the selection out!! I used Floral Butterfly Corner for my card. I had a big order for sympathy cards, and this image just spoke to me. I added the sentiment before printing it out on my computer. I colored it with my Copics, trying a different technique. I colored the entire image with the warm gray range of markers, then, using the lightest shades in the color families, I colorized it. Very subtle, but I love the effect, especially for this kind of card. I triple matted it with black and white CS, and this card was done 🙂 Here’s a closeup that shows the colors a bit better…

Sunflower Squirrel

Hi, I’m back again with my Sunday inspiration for Ching-Chou Kuik’s Facebook challenge. This month, our theme is “Four-legged Friends”. There are lots of images in the Etsy store that feature our animal friends, so you have a great choice! I used Fall Squirrel for my project, and colored it with Copics.

I matted the image with the same CS that I used as a mat when arranging the subtle patterned papers into layers. I die cut a leaf border, some berries and a cheerful sunflower to edge the image. To finish, I added a peel off sentiment and butterfly, and some gold adhesive balls.

Moo-ving

Hi 🙂 I’m here today with some inspiration for the challenge at the Sheepski Designs Facebook group. We’re always ATG, but each month, we have an optional twist…..this month that twist is Square Cards. Any image from Sheepski Designs can be used, and we’d love to see your creations!!! I’ve been eyeing up Curly for quite some time now, so this month, he got to take centre stage! 🙂 I colored him up with my Copics….he’s great practice on hair/fur!!!

I grabbed some cool printed paper, and cut an aperture for Mr. Curly to look out of. I matted the print paper with some teal CS – a color I picked up from the print. I printed the sentiment on my computer, then cut it with a fishtail banner die. I dug through my MASSIVE stash of buttons, and found some odd ones that coordinated with the card colors, and tied them with some embroidery floss before attaching them to the card 🙂

Since I regularly get orders for “good-bye/good luck” cards, this project puts me one step ahead!!

Orchid Sympathy Card

Hi there 🙂 Today, I have some inspiration from Aurora Wings. We have a Facebook challenge every month, starting on the first Monday of the month, and it’s always ATG, with either a finished project or coloring, old or new!! Come join us at our Facebook Group!! I had a big order for sympathy cards, recently, so decided to go with something simple and elegant, using the beautiful Orchid Border (found exclusively HERE in the digi store). I colored it with my Copics, then fussy cut the bottom edge.

I’m not much of one for using pink, generally, but this image just called for it. I embossed a pink piece of CS, then layered the image over it. A simple, die cut sentiment was added near the bottom. I called it finished at this point, as I like to keep sympathy cards simple and clean.

Christmas Friends

Hello 🙂 It’s hard to believe that August is over half done!!! Time for my inspiration project for the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge 🙂 Our theme this month is “Four Legged Friends”…..as I was looking through the images in Ching-Chou’s Etsy store, I saw this one, and thought it was high time I started making my Christmas cards!!! Usually, I start in January, but this year……..well……this is the first! I colored A Christmas Tree (without background) up with my Copics, then fussy cut it out.

I layered it with a mirror card printed with snowflakes, a die cut pine tree, and a pretty die cut frame. This really popped against the dark brown background, that I embellished with die cut snowflakes from mirror card, some dots of Nuvo, and a pretty green Christmas sentiment.

Unicorn Love

Hi there 🙂 It’s time for my Sunday inspiration post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge for this month! We have a fun theme this time around, Four Legged Friends <3 So many of us have friends with four legs, so love to receive a card that features one of these lovable critters. I’m pretty sure than nobody has a unicorn, though, which is what I’ve used on my card, with the image called Unicorn Love, from Ching-Chou’s Etsy store. I colored it with my Copics, adding a few white accents with my Posca. I stuck with pastel colors with both my coloring, and with my paper choices. I tucked in a die cut doily between the layers, and a small piece of paper lace on the bottom edge of one of the layers. I matched up some of the flowers from my stash and arranged them with a pearl spray, die cut leaves and some pieces of bright pink ribbon (to tie in with the pink flowers in the image). I finished everything off with a stamped birthday sentiment and some adhesive pearls.

Crane Screen

Hi there!!! Today marks the start of a brand new ATG challenge at Creative Fingers Challenge Blog 🙂 This time, we are being sponsored by the fabulous Lemon Shortbread stamps <3 The DT was provided with some lovely images to work with, and I chose Chinese Japanese Cranes. I had ordered some Asian inspired dies quite a while ago, and was sure they should be here by the time my project was due, but Canada Post strikes again, and I’m still waiting for mail!! So, I had to come up with something else….last minute, as I was waiting…..lol. I thought of the screen idea, and started to map things out after I’d colored the image with my Copics. The first time I colored, I didn’t “math” right, and cut the panels the wrong size, so had to start all over…..I don’t math. I traced the screen template that I made up onto black CS, and carefully cut it out and scored it to make a three panel screen. I decorated it with an Asian stamp that I embossed in gold, and then finished decorating with a gold gel pen. I cut the panels from the image…..did it right the second time, lol. I had some black pinstriping tape on hand, so used this to section off each image. To hold the pinstriping in place and to finish the panel off nicely, I embossed the edges with gold. I stamped some bamboo, and embossed it in gold on the back of the two outside panels, but the pictures really were icky, so you have to believe me that it looks good, lol. The back of the middle panel is left blank for a sentiment or short note. I like that this can be used as a card, then as a small piece of decor, as well.

You’re a Star

Hi there 🙂 It’s been sooooooo long since I did anything with a Faery Ink image, I figured it was high time to fix that! Sadly, this particular image is no longer in the shop, but Amanda has tons of other beautiful images to pick from 🙂 I colored this beauty up with my Copics, then added some glitter to the stars, and some Spectrum Noir gold sparkle pen to the unicorn horn.

I die cut the image, then inset it into the star frame that I cut from some shimmery gold CS. I did a third die cut from silver sparkle paper, and inset the stars into the gold cut. I glued this onto a pretty rainbow dot paper, that I matted with silver sparkle. A gold die cut sentiment, and some more stars sprinkled around it, finished this bright and fun card off.

Calla Lily

Good morning 🙂 My holidays are over half over, and I have no idea where time has gone!! At least I’m able to catch up on some things during my stay-cation 🙂 This card features an amazing lineart image from Christine Karron. I love her pretty fairies and mermaids, and Calla Lily Fairy is no exception!! After coloring the image with my Copics, I cut it out around the frame and set it aside.

For the background, I took a plain piece of dark blue CS, and used a calla lily rubber stamp that I’ve had for forever and a day, to stamp and emboss it …..also in a dark blue. I seriously think this is the first time I’ve used this stamp….and it’s probably been sitting in my stash for about 20 years, lol.

I wanted to keep the card design fairly simple, to let the image shine, so I just used some pale yellow sheer ribbon, and some yellow twine, to wrap the corners and tie a pretty bow. A few purple gem embellishments were the final addition.

5th Birthday Fun

Hello 🙂 Recently, a special little girl turned 5, and I had to made a card just for her. She loves unicorns and sparkles, so this adorable image from Polkadoodles was the perfect choice for the card!! I merged it with a big number 5, then I colored up this image, from the Lil Miss Sugarpops collection, with my Copic markers. When I was done, I added some highlights with a white Posca pen, then used gold and clear Spectrum Noir pens to add a bunch of sparkle to this little sweetie. 🙂

I found some sparkle paper that went nicely with the colored image, and used it for a background. I printed the personalized sentiment on my computer, then cut it out with a fishtail banner die. Some pieces of gold ribbon, that were fishtail cut as well; and some purple gems finished this birthday card off 🙂
