Special Thanks

Hello there 🙂 I’m sharing my inspiration card for this month’s ATG (old or new) challenge at the Aurora Wings Facebook group. It doesn’t even have to be a full project, we like to see your colorings, as well!! When I saw this image, Cultured (available HERE on Etsy, and HERE in the digi shop), I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. With all the frontline workers doing so much for everyone during the pandemic, the testers are often forgotten. I made this card to send to these people at our provincial laboratory <3 Before printing the image, I lightened up the lines of her nose and mouth, as I added the mask to her (Mitzi is so good with us making small alterations like this mask to her images). When I colored her up with my Copics, you could still see the shadow of her lower face, which was what I wanted. I added Glossy Accents to the goggles for a bit of realism, and fussy cut her out.

I dug around in my paper, and opted for this neon green (virus?) color for the base. I die cut 2 abstract cuts….which looked science-y to me…..and layered them on the green. I took some of the bright blue paper from the same pad as the green, and cut the thanks out of it, then again from black, to give it a shadow. After everything was pasted in place, and matted, the card needed something. Some black sequins fit the bill perfectly, and the card remained flat for easy mailing. I wrote a note in it, and instead of signing it, I just expressed that this thanks was from the people of Saskatchewan 🙂

Happiness…

Hi there 🙂 I hope you are all doing well, and staying healthy 🙂 This card is my inspiration piece for the current challenge at Creative Fingers. Our very own Angelique is sponsoring this challenge, and will send the lucky winner this beautiful stamp set:)

The image that I used on my card is by Faery Ink…..I think. I can’t find it anywhere in the store, but it was in my Faery Ink folder….so I’ll go with that. If I’m wrong, please feel free to correct me, so I can give the right artist credit. I colored this cute little guy up with my Copics, then fussy cut him out.

I layered some different yellow papers up…..on which I die cut into a sunburst, and the other, I printed an inspirational quote by Buddha. I added a few sequins and double matted the card to finish it off. I love how the image, the bright colors, and the saying all combine to really convey this happy message 🙂

You’re a Star

Hi there 🙂 I’m here to share an inspiration card for the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge. This month, our theme is Embossing, Wet or Dry. The DT have an extra challenge put to them this week, and it’s to add some sparkle. I’ve managed to incorporate both themes in this card, featuring the image called Stars Dreams. I colored the image with my Copics, then added some Wink of Stella to the moon for the first bit of sparkle. Of course the picture doesn’t show this!!

I die cut a pretty star frame, that compliments the image perfectly, then took my embossing pen, so I could selectively heat emboss some of the stars with some sparkly embossing powder. I also embossed some extra stars, and the stars in the image. I layered the image and the frame on to some sparkly blue cardstock, then added a bottom panel of white CS, that I embossed with a star embossing folder….if you look hard, you can see the embossing….it was hard to get a picture of the texture without getting some mad glare from the sparkly paper!! I added the die cut sentiment and then scattered a few of the sparkly stars around it to finish off.

Hugs

Hello there:) With the current worldwide situation, I’ve been sending out cards to family and friends all over the world, to let them know I’m thinking of them, and hope they’re safe. The image that I used on this card is a freebie, generously given by Polkadoodles. It’s part of a set that pays tribute to the frontline workers that are giving so much <3 It’s also perfect for a friend, who is one of these heroes. I colored it with Copics, then cut it out with a wonky stitched die.

The heart print paper coordinated so nicely with the image, and showed a little love as well!! I used a more subtle print from the same collection, as well as solid and glitter sheets to provide some contrast. I cut the sentiment out and placed it on a banner die, then layered everything up. I finished off with some banners at the top, with a heart brad to tie everything together 🙂

Red Rose

Hello there!! Happy Mother’s Day to all that celebrate, I hope you had a wonderful day…even though it was different for many of us. It’s my day to share some inspiration for the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge. Our theme this month is Embossing…Wet or Dry. It’s been a while since I did anything in my favorite color combo, so I colored up the gorgeous image, Longing, in that palette with my Copics. I die cut the image out, then matted it with some Black Magic paper, that I sanded the edges of, to show the white core.

I embossed some of the same paper, then sanded it to enhance the design, before die cutting it into 2 banner shapes. I layered everything up, then added a red rose, some flourish leaves that I cut from silver mirror card, and a few silver balls. Love the dramatic look that this color combo gives!!

Monarch

Hey there 🙂 I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy, and also managing to hang on to some semblance of sanity in this crazy/scary worldwide situation that we’re living through. This card is my last inspiration for this month’s Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge. Our theme this month is Animals…..and that includes anything in the animal kingdom!!! I used this gorgeous image, Monarch, from the Flora and Fauna set. I colored the image with my Copics, then die cut it with a octagon die.

I used larger octagon dies to partially cut the front of the card, and the pretty butterfly background paper. After layering them up, the image needed a bit more definition, so I matted it with the same kraft paper that I used on the inside of the card. I rummaged through my flower collection and found some blossoms that coordinated beautifully with the image. To finish things off, I added some doodled stitching and a couple Card Candy (colored to coordinate with the card) and some sparkle on the inside corners, that also show when the card is closed.

Anniversary Gnomes

Hello 🙂 This is a bittersweet post, as it is my last one as a DT for the Sheepski Designs Facebook group. Much as I love working with Andrea’s fabulous images, with the world situation, I’m finding myself sadly lacking in mojo, but having an over abundance of stress!!! Not a cool combination!! I used one of the adorable gnome images available in the Etsy store for this card. I colored up Giant Daisies with my Copics….trying to match up the colors found in my background paper.

And then….everything ground to a halt, as I fiddled around with layouts and accent colors…for a WEEK!!! No wonder this last inspiration piece was late for the challenge!! 🙁 I settled on orange and white, and did a simple layout, with a stamped sentiment on a die cut banner, with a big orange daisy to match the one in the image as a simple embellishment. A cheery card for a special couple!!

Crane of Peace

Hi there 🙂 I have my second inspiration project for the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge this month. Our theme is Animals, and this week I decided to go with birds as my animal of choice, and used the beautiful Crane of Peace for my card. I colored the image with my Copics, adding a few accents with gold gel pen, and some white stars in the night sky with my Posca pen.

I was super excited that these new dies I got from Frantic Stamper were PERFECT with this image!!! I added some color to the cranes to match the one in the image. I layered everything on some black card stock, and added a few black pearls to the flowers, and some black and white matting to finish this off 🙂

Exotic Hello

Hi there 🙂 I hope you are all doing well and staying safe and healthy 🙂 Since time seems to always pass so quickly, I hope that the time that this pandemic is here also passes quickly!! Speaking of time passing quickly, another challenge has started at Creative Fingers. All of our challenges are ATG, as we love to see whatever your creative muse has led you to create!! This time we have the fabulous Ching-Chou Kuik as our sponsor. I’m sure that anyone that comes to my blog, knows that this is one of my favorite artists 🙂 I chose to use the image called Peony for my card, and colored her up with my Copics. I’ve really been struggling to put any cards together lately, with my mind being so distracted with other things going on, my mojo has slipped into a dark corner 🙁 This rather simple card took me almost a week to complete!!! I found the paper before I started coloring, so matched up the colors, and thought it would go well from there…..HA!!! I finally settled on die cutting the image with a pretty oval die, and matting it with a larger size of the same die. I layered this on top of some flourish die cuts and finished off with a coordinating die cut sentiment 🙂 I think it works with the busy background paper, and I’m loving the rich color scheme with this exotic image 🙂

Spring Friends

Hello 🙂 Happy Easter! I hope everyone had a peaceful, happy and healthy day <3 I’m popping in to quickly share my first inspiration project for this month’s Ching-Chou Kuik’s Facebook challenge. Our theme this month is Animals…..that includes anything in the animal kingdom 🙂 I used Spring Clover, with the beautiful girl and her little bunny friend on this card. I colored it up with my Copics, and framed it with a pretty die cut.

I found the background paper in my stash, and was happy with how well the colors matched my image. For embellishments, I added a pretty bow, some flowers and pearls 🙂
