Fall’s Coming!

Hello! I’m a bit late with this post, as my usual day for posting my CCK inspiration is Sunday…….but….life. Our challenge theme at the Facebook group this month is Autumn/Fall and or Autumn/Fall Colors. I used the Deer Autumn image, and colored her up in the splendid colors of autumn with my Copics.

I die/fussy cut her out and layered her over an arrangement of die cut autumn leaves and branches. I made the berries with some Fimo clay. I placed everything on a background paper that had a subtle autumn leaf print, then added a stamped sentiment.

Dahlia

Hi there 🙂 This card is my first DT inspiration for this month, for the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge. Our theme for August is Autumn or Fall and/or the Colors of Autumn/Fall. I used the beautiful image Dahlia for my card, and colored her up with my Copics

Since I had the background paper picked out before coloring the image, I was able to coordinate the colors quite nicely. I cut the image out and matted it with some pretty shaped stacking dies that I have. I layered it over a stitched strip, then added a die cut sentiment….cut twice, to add a bit more dimension. Finally, I added the dahlia flowers that I made, by stacking and forming a number of die cut and punched shaped, and accenting the color with a few touches of Copic. I popped on some pearls, that I’d colored to coordinate, as the finishing touch.

Java Christmas

Hi there 🙂 When I saw this image at Ike’s Art, I just had to have it!!! It reminded me so much of my pup, Java!!! I colored him up with my Copics, to make a Christmas card for one of my kids.

I kept the design fairly simple, cutting the image out and putting it on a subtle print background paper. I die cut some pine branches and arranged them by the image, then used some red shimmer paper to cut some ornaments and the sentiment. I matted everything with the same shimmer paper to tie things together.

Summer Lovin’

Hi there 🙂 Today I’m sharing a fun summer birthday card, featuring a cute, summer loving rhino, by Crafting Desert Divas. It’s so sad that their shop closed down, as they had many cute images. I colored this guy with my Copics, then fussy cut him out.

I went with a wave shaped slimline card, to give the feeling of water movement. After cutting the base, I cut a piece of water drop printed paper for the rhino to float on. I die cut (and trimmed) a sun, some clouds and a cheerful birthday sentiment, and arranged the cuts to complete this fun scene.

La Catrina

Hello 🙂 It’s time for another ATG challenge at Creative Fingers. We are on our summer schedule, so this challenge will last for the whole month, and there are two prizes, courtesy of Angelique, up for grabs. Check out the blog to see them!! I used this absolutely fabulous image, Dalia line art, from Myka Jelina Fairy Art. I colored her with my Copics, including a rich blue background.

Because of the intricacy of the image, I wanted to keep the rest of the card fairly simple. I chose a subtle print for a background paper, and added a die cut lace border, that I topped with some cool black trim. A cluster of flowers, tied with a black bow, and black matting throughout, leave the focus on the image.

Snow Fairy

Hi there 🙂 What better day to post a frosty cool card than the hottest day that we’ve had yet this summer?!?!? I absolutely adore this image, Winter Fairy Talva, from Mo’s Digital Pencil. I colored her up with my Copics, and added some chunky glitter to the snow on her wings, the snowball and the ground.

I picked some cool, snowy printed background paper, and some glitter card stock to make the layers. After die cutting some snowflakes, I centered them with some iridescent gems. I was lucky to find some sparkly ribbon in my stash that was perfect for the bow, which I added some of the same gems to the centre. I added a sentiment with stickers, and a few more gems scattered on the background, before adhering everything to a base that I’d die cut a snowflake border on the top.

Ginger Christmas

Hi there!! A few more days to celebrate Christmas in July, so I thought I’d finally have a play with this adorable image from Digi Doodle Studios. When I saw Jack’s Ginger and Ginger Spice’s Christmas Day, I had to have it!! What absolutely perfect little ginger people!! I colored them up with my Copics, then stamped a Christmas sentiment.

I had the perfect papers to pair with these cuties, and layered a number of different patterns up. A few die cut banner shapes peeking out from behind the image gave the perfect finishing touch to this card, while still keeping it flat for easy mailing.

Floating Pearls

Hi there! It’s Sunday again…and the last day of my staycation week 🙁 Back to work tomorrow! But first, I’m here to share my last inspiration card for this month’s challenge at the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook group. Our theme for July is to Use Die Cuts or Punches or Both! The DT also had an extra challenge this week, and that’s to use Pearls, gems or sequins on their project. I chose the beautiful image, Floating Pearls, and colored her up with my Copics, then added Liquid Pearls.

I took inspiration from the image name for the design of my card. I layered up some subtle green print and some turquoise papers with “bubble” die cuts, and a wave border on the bottom. Then, I tucked in some pearl sprays to “float” around the image, and amongst the die cut seaweed. I used both Liquid Pearls and adhesive pearls as embellishments, and finished off with a cheerful die cut sentiment.

Nature’s Comfort

Hi there! I got an order for some sympathy cards, and of course, didn’t have any on hand! (I really have a hard time making them.) I like sympathy cards to be simple, and convey a sense of peace and calm. I used this lovely border and dragonfly stamp set from Indigo Blue (freebie from a magazine), as well as a Recollections sentiment, to stamp and emboss a silhouette onto a pale blue background paper. A simple black mat framed it up nicely and finished it off.

Under the Stars

Hi there 🙂 I have another card featuring a sweet Lee Holland image. This adorable penguin and polar bear stamp can be found here. I colored them with my Copics, then fussy cut them out.

I knew exactly which paper I wanted to use when I started this…..a card size scrap of a starry, wintery night 🙂 I die cut part of the sentiment directly into the background paper, so a piece of contrasting paper showed through. I then stamped and embossed a die cut vellum banner to finish of the greeting. A few sequins were the only embellishments needed, and kept the card flat for mailing.
