Decked Out Deer

Hello 🙂 Here I am again with another Christmas card! This gorgeous Reindeer image is from LC Waterworth, a “new to me” artist. I colored this beauty up with my Copics, and touches of white Posca, then stamped a sentiment between his antlers.

I did some rummaging through my paper stash, and chose a number of pieces from the same collection to layer the card up. Some enamel dots provided a quick finishing touch.

2020 Tree Ornaments

Every year, since my kids were born, I have purchased or made a tree decoration for them. This was with the understanding that, when they were grown and on their own, I would get them a tree, lights, and topper, and give them the decorations that had accumulated over the years. <3 Although they both have their own trees, that doesn’t stop this momma from continuing with the decs! I had to made one that commemorates this year somehow. I still have a bunch of Fimo and Sculpey clay, so decided to use some of it up. Oy!! Although it wasn’t dried up, it was fairly hard, and I certainly gave my hands a workout softening it up! (Perhaps because it’s been sitting for about 15 years, lol). I had much grander plans for the decorations, but after the softening process, I found that I was way out of practice!!!! Duh! I managed to get this pair of masked snowmen, holding their sanitizer, made up and sent off to both my kids 🙂

Purple Sparkle

Hi there 🙂 Well, it’s hard to believe that I’m sharing my last inspiration card of December, and 2020, for the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook Challenge!! Our theme this month is Happy Christmas/Happy Birthday/Just Because, and there’s still a little bit of time to get your entry in! I used one of my favorite CCK images, Snowflake Imprint, for my card. As it’s for someone that loves the color purple, that was the predominant shade! I colored it with my Copics, and added some purple ice Stickles and tiny rhinestones for sparkle.

I lucked out and found a purple snowflake print paper in my stash!! I cut the image out with a circle die, then layered a snowflake diecut over top to frame it. I stamped the image and cut it out so I could tuck it in the corner. The inside parts of the frame had some lovely snowflake cut outside, so I used them and a few punches to sprinkle around the image. More Stickles and rhinestones were added, for an extra boost of sparkle.

Corgi Joy

Well, I’m continuing on with the posting of this year’s Christmas cards 🙂 I made this one for my kid, using an adorable Christmas Corgi from Power Poppy. I colored the sweet little pooch up with my Copics, then fussy cut him out.

The shape of the image, as well as his reindeer antlers, gave me the idea of doing an interactive card. He just had to be flying in the night sky, over the tree tops! I cut out a slimline base, then cut a slot to assemble a penny slider mechanism in.

Before putting things together, I gave a quick spritz of Glimmer Mist on the top layer, then added some twinkling stars with a Posca pen. I die cut a number of pine trees, and some pieces to look like snow banks, and arranged them on the bottom of the card. The die cut sentiment emulated the movement of the pup, so was perfect for this! I got the image attached on the slider, all ready to spread Christmas joy 🙂 I finished off with some tiny rhinestones in the centers of the stars, and some snowy glitter on the trees and snowbanks.

Christmas Carolers

Hi there 🙂 Another one of this year’s Christmas cards to share. This one, I used part of Lili of the Valley’s Christmas Band. I selected the carolers from the set, and merged them together before printing the image and coloring it with my Copics.

I left the design fairly simple, as the image is so cute, I really wanted it to stand out. I stamped a sentiment above the image, then layered it up on a cheerful polka dot print paper. I die cut some musical notes multiple times, and glued them together to give a bit of dimension then added Glossy Accents to them before adding them to the card.

Merry Christ-moose

Hi there! I hope you all had a good Christmas, different as it was for so many of us! I’m going to try to blog as many Christmas cards that I can in the next couple days, seeing as I finally have time, and most of them have made it to their recipients. When I saw this handsome guy in the latest release at Power Poppy, I knew I had to have him!! I colored up Maximo Moose, from the Forest Fellas collection, with my Copics, then cut him out to hang off the square focal piece.

I wanted to do a rustic, masculine card, as this was for my son. What better prints to use than woodgrain and buffalo plaid?!?! I layered the pieces, wrapping the printed papers with a piece of twine, before attaching the image. I spattered some white paint, to give a feeling of snow, then cut the sentiment (from the same set as the image) with a fishtail banner die. To finish this card, I attached some wooden snowflakes…perfect compliments to the rustic look!!

Dec. 25th

Hello, and Merry Christmas!! I hope everyone enjoys the day safely, and finds all the joy that this day is about <3 We have a special post over at Creative Fingers today. A Merry Christmas to all our sponsors throughout the year, and a blog candy giveaway!!

Angelique and Tindaloo have generously put the above candy up for grabs!

I made this card using a cute stamp and die set that I received from the one and only Angelique, earlier in the year. I colored the snowman with my Copics, then set him aside as I assembled the rest of the card. I stamped and embossed the sentiment with red sparkle powder, then layered the beautiful snowflake die cut over red mirror card. Then I got the bling out! I used minuscule rhinestones in the holes encircling the sentiment. I got this pick up pencil that makes handling such tiny embellishments easy, and it’s a game changer! Larger stones were placed in the centers of the snowflakes. Finally, I popped the snowman on the card, using some foam dots.

Not a Creature Was Stirring

Hey there 🙂 Well, we’re into the home stretch, and I hope everyone is ready, and able to enjoy the holidays <3 I had fun doing this card up with a non-Christmas image from The Paper Shelter. When I first saw Nap In a Cup, I immediately thought of a tuckered out elf on Christmas Eve! I colored him up with my Copics, and added a Christmas motif on the cup with colored pencils.

When I printed the image, I added a sentiment, that I created, to print at the same time. I die/fussy cut this out and layered it on a patterned paper that I’d wrapped a pretty ribbon around. A sprinkling of chunky embossing powder added just a bit more shine to the card.

Christmas Cuddle

Uh oh!! I’m late in sharing my second inspiration card for the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook Challenge!! Was running around yesterday and then there were some lengthy holiday phone calls, and it totally slipped my mind!! Anyway, it’s shortly after 5am, so I’ll pretend it’s still yesterday, lol. Our challenge theme this month is Happy Christmas/Happy Birthday/Just Because, so it pretty much covers almost anything. I used the sweet image, Christmas Cuddle for my card, and colored it with Copics.

I went through my scraps, and was happy to find a number of them to create the card layers with. After getting everything assembled, with a pretty gold twinge wrapped around the card for some sparkle, I die cut and assembled the poinsettia. No sentiment on the outside of this card, all the festive greetings were written inside 🙂

Toy Shop

Good morning! Well, less than a week until Christmas, and it will be a very different one for so many. This card features a sweet image from Aurora Wings. I colored Santa’s Little Helper up with my Copics, then cut it out with a stitched die and inked the edges.

Then, I got stumped!! Lol! After trying out about a million different papers and layouts, I finally settled on this. I tucked a couple die cut trees to peek out from behind the image, then cut the border piece. Before attaching the border, I stamped and embossed the sentiment. I still wasn’t happy with how things looked, so inlaid some of the gift pieces, and added some gold and silver accents to the other parts of the gifts, and the dotted part of the border.

Be sure to check out Mitzi’s new images and coloring books at the Etsy Shop and at Aurorawings.com!!
