Autumn Dragonflies

Hi there 🙂 I’m sharing a card that I made as DT inspiration for the current challenge at Ching-Chou Kuik’s Facebook group. The theme for this month is “Thanksgiving or Fall or Fall/Autumn Colors”. I used the beautiful image Autumn Dragonflies, and colored it up with my Copics.

I used a pretty background die, then layered it over some cardstock to match the colors in the image. After attaching the image, I die cut some dragonflies from some dull gold paper, and added some sparkle to their wings (which looks very unsparkly in the photos…but such is the joy of taking pics). A stamped and embossed sentiment and a little cluster of flowers finish the card off.

Baby Elephant

Hi there 🙂 Today I’m sharing another GDT creation for Conie Fong. There are so many adorable images in her Etsy shop, that it’s quite difficult to decide which one to have a play with!! I needed a baby card, and Baby Ellie fit the bill perfectly! I colored the image with my Copics, trying match up the palette with the papers I’d chosen.

After cutting the image out with a pierced circle die, I layered it with the design papers, adding a white strip to allow some definition of the sentiment die cut. Some frothy white flowers added a pretty finishing touch, without adding too much bulk for mailing.

Flower Friend

Hi there! I was asked to be a GD for Conie Fong recently, and here is another inspiration card 🙂 I just adore the little gnomes that she has in her Etsy Shop, and it was so hard to decide which one to use! I figured it was high time that I started putting some real effort into getting at least a couple Christmas cards done up, so I chose the Poinsettia Gnome Bundle to work with. I worked with the PNG version, to allow me to go a bit crazy with the merging of the poinsettias with the main gnome image. When I was done, it appears that the little guy is walking out of a huge bunch of the blooms. I colored it up with my Copics, then fussy cut the entire image out.

I placed the image on an embossed oval piece, that I’d framed with a die cut silver mirror card frame. I brushed the die cut sentiment with some Wink of Stella to give a bit of shimmer before attaching everything to a coordinating plaid background that was matted with more silver mirror card. A few little silver embellishments finish the card off 🙂

Party Without a Cake

Hi there 🙂 I hope everyone is doing well, as the world slowly creeps back to some sort of normalcy. I’m sharing my first DT inspiration card for this month’s Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge. Our theme this time is Embossing (Heat or Dry or both). I used the fun It’s My Birthday image, and colored it with my Copics.

I always seem to neglect to use my embossing folders, so this is a great challenge to get me digging them out! I found one with a 3D star type of pattern, which tied in nicely with the stars in the image. Since I was digging things up, I figured I’d have a go with an old MS cupcake punch, too! I punched each cupcake out twice, once to use the blue cake holders, and once with some embossed white paper for the icing. I stamped, heat embossed and cut out the sentiment. A few die cut candles are tucked behind the sentiment, and a banner die cut balances things out. To finish things off, I glued down some teeny rhinestones for cupcake sprinkles, and some sparkle on the image and banner.

Birthday Unicorn

Hi there 🙂 It’s time for another ATG challenge at Creative Fingers. This challenge will be a month long, as many are going on vacation 🙂 We are thrilled to have a brand new sponsor!!! LC Waterworth has kindly provided the DT with some images, and will be supplying the prize this time 🙂 Thank You! I used the Birthday Unicorn coloring page for my card, and colored it up with my Copics, adding some sparkles with white Posca, and some glitter accents in the confetti with glitter pens.

With the image being on the busy side, I wanted to keep the design of the card simple. I matted the image with some black and glittery gold, then placed everything on a pretty rainbow stripe background paper.

Old Goat

Hi there!! I recently had a card to make for one of the boss’s birthdays. Every time we talk, we kid around with him calling me “young lady” and me calling him “old man” – although I’m slightly older than him. Since I made this card, the “old man” has morphed into “old goat”. I used an image from Stamp On It, from the QKR Stampede line, called Old Goat, and colored it with my Copics.

I printed the sentiment at the same time as the image. I doodled around the border, to add just a little “something”, then matted it with red. I placed it on a plaid background paper, then added a few enamel dots as the finishing touch.

Rainbow Wings

Hi there 🙂 I hope everything is going well for everyone out there!! I’m sooooo happy….I got my second dose of my vaccine today….finally. It’s been a long year and a half, and it’s great to be able to breathe a little easier now 🙂 I’m sharing an inspiration card for the current challenge at the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook group. Our theme is Things That Fly, and I thought that this image, Harmony, was perfect for it. I colored it up with my Copics, using a picture of a bird as a color guide.

I found some polka dot background paper that coordinated with the image, but wasn’t too overly fussy to detract from the image. I die cut some black foliage to tuck around the picture, which I’d framed in black, and then added a pretty die cut sentiment, also cut from black card stock.

Butterfly Bounty

Hi there! I’m here to share my first DT creation for this month’s challenge at the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook group. Our theme this month is Things that Fly. There are so many images in Ching-Chou’s shop that feature a winged friend! I used Misty Eyes for my creation, and colored her up in Copics, matching the color scheme of the background paper I’d chosen to use.

I cut her out and framed her with a pretty oval die, then positioned a gorgeous butterfly die cut at the bottom of the image. I used the same shades of markers to color in the butterflies on the die cut. Another butterfly die cut perches on the top of the image 🙂 A few silver pearls were added to accent the blooms in the die cut.

Never Grow Up

Hey there 🙂 It’s time for a new ATG challenge over at Creative Fingers! Angelique is sponsoring, with this lovely stamp set going to one lucky winner!

Since the DT can dive into their stash, and use anything their little hearts desire, I decided to work with an amazing image from Mo’s Digital Pencil. I printed Peter Pan off, using one of the included sentiments, then colored him up with my Copics. I even got to use some of the rarely used fluorescent shades to highlight the sentiment 🙂

I’m not too sure what this card style is called, or even if it has a name, lol. It worked with the idea I had in my head, though! I cut the front of the card blank down, so the matted sentiment inside provided a frame of sorts for the main panel. A bunch of foliage die cuts added to the whimsical feel of this project.

I’d like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Somebody Say Cake?

Hi there 🙂 I was thrilled to be asked to be a GDT at Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges!! They always have the most fun challenge themes, great sponsors, and fabulous DT inspiration 🙂 This time around, their theme is Anything Goes with an Animal, and their generous sponsor is the one and only Ike’s Art!

I used the adorable Peeping Tom image, from Ike’s, to make my inspiration card. When I saw this guy, I knew I had to make a slim line card! I printed him off to size, then colored him up with my Copics. For the background, I wrote in all kinds of words that relate to birthdays. I matted the image with a piece of plaid paper that I’d cut with a scalloped slimline die, then again with some orange card stock. The cat’s expression reminded me of when they hear something that interests them, and they suddenly get VERY attentive!! I printed a sentiment to tie in with this on the card blank, before adhering the image panel. I’d like to say another big thank you to the team at Scrapping 4 Fun for asking me to join them this time <3
