Bridal Blossoms

Hi there πŸ™‚ It’s wedding season, and now that restrictions from the pandemic have been lifted, it’s busier than ever!!! I colored up these gorgeous Wedding Flowers, from Julia Spiri, for this wedding card. I fussy cut the bottom part of the image out, so that it overlapped the lace that I used as a border.

This was all layered on a pink cardstock, that I’d matted with a darker pink paper. After die cutting the sentiment out, and gluing it down, I felt the card still needed a little something. Some pink and white pearls in various sizes provided the perfect finishing touch of elegance for the card.

Dragon Wishes

Hi there πŸ™‚ I was going through my images, and found this pretty dragon, from the Coloring Guru – yet another store that has gone by the wayside πŸ™ I colored it with my Copics, using bright gemstone tones. For some sparkle, I added white Posca accents, and went over parts of the dragon with some clear Wink of Stella. I used an oval die to partially cut it out, and fussy cut the rest. After matting it with black, I set the image aside.

For the base, I cut a starry slimline background, and layered it over a piece that I’d blended some coordinating Distress Oxides on. I placed the image on the layered background, then added a die cut and stamped sentiment. A simple black mat finished this card off.

Dino Babies

Hi there πŸ™‚ I’m still really low on baby boy cards, so decided to use these adorable dinosaurs from AMB Illustrations. They’re from an older set, no longer in the store, but there’s some adorable clipart, papers and stamp sets in the dinosaur theme at the store πŸ™‚ I colored the little guys up with my Copics, then fussy cut them out. I took a piece of blue dotted paper, and a set of rounded rectangle stacking dies, and cut multiple windows out, to form the base for a shaker card. I picked a subtle blue print for the backing, and meticulously picked out appropriate shaker materials from a mixed set. After lining up the dinos to the best window, I die cut some backdrop material, and drew and cut out a rock for the one to sit on. Die cut sentiments each had their own window as well.

Pocket of Ginger

Hi there πŸ™‚ I’ve really been slacking off on making Christmas cards this year!! If I don’t start to make a few more, I’ll be swamped come November! I used this cute Ginger Pocket from Bugaboo….I still can’t believe they’re closed down! I colored it up with my Copics, then fussy cut it out. I die cut a tag, then placed the image on it. While the Big Shot was fired up, I also die cut some candy canes and the sentiment. I added some red stickles to the bow and stitching in the image, as some stripes on the candy canes, and dots on the “merry”. Some green and white ribbon tied up both the tag and the candy cane pair. To mirror the green and white, I cut a green “christmas” sentiment to layer with the white one. Everything got layered and arranged on a Christmassy plaid background πŸ™‚

Relax

Hi there πŸ™‚ Well, I have another male birthday card, in my quest to beef up my stash in that category. I used an image from Just Inklined – and it sadly seems as if this is another store that has closed down! I added the sentiment before I printed off this pair of slippers. I had an idea for this rather simple layout, and rummaged around for an appropriate printed paper – this plaid was PERFECT!! I matched the colors in the paper when I colored the image with my Copics. Some black matting and a few enamel dots tie everything together, and some quick doodles finish this card off πŸ™‚

Smile

Hi there πŸ™‚ I had to do a card using an image from Ike’s Art, as a tribute to the artist, Susie, who sadly passed away recently. I colored this Shark up with my Copics, then fussy cut him out. The look on his face is such a goofy smile, and gave me the idea for putting him in a Polaroid photo die cut. I backed him up with a cool DP that is shimmery, and looks like water – of course, the photo doesn’t do this paper justice, lol. The background paper is some that I had in my stash for ages, and had never used, but this card was just calling out for it!! I used a slimline background die to cut the strips of black and white (these were the offcuts), to use as the border. A die cut “smile”, and some black and silver baubles ALMOST finished this card off. I had to add a tiny rhinestone to the sharks front tooth, to give his smile some sparkle πŸ™‚

Sunflower Baby

Hi there πŸ™‚ It’s been so long since I’ve done a card with an image by Mo Manning, from Mo’s Digital Pencil, that I felt it was more than high time to have a play! This adorable Sunflower Baby is a nod to the horrible circumstances the people of the Ukraine are in, and an expression of my very, very best wishes to them all for peace in the near future <3 I colored her up with my Copics, then cut the image out with an irregular edge die.

I decided to do a Double Dutch fold card, and after making the base, I found some printed papers that coordinated beautifully with the colors in the image. After layering everything on to the card base, I grabbed one of my favorite flower building dies, and began cutting out sunflowers. I love this die because it’s great for both sunflowers and all the daisy varieties πŸ™‚ I positioned the flowers on the card, then stamped a sentiment, which I cut out with the smallest die from the nesting set that I’d used for the image. A few enamel dots in coordinating colors finish this card off.

Relaxing Retirement

Hi there πŸ™‚ I was going through my images, and found this one, by Little Claire, that I’d won in a challenge years and years ago, and never used! Sadly, it seems as if their shop closed down πŸ™ I colored it up with my Copics, and cut it out with a scalloped slimline die. This image is so peaceful and relaxing, my mind naturally went to a retirement theme card! I stamped and embossed the sentiment, then wrapped some blue and white bakers twine around the base. I backed everything with a pretty royal blue CS that I’d cut with a stitched die. It needed a bit more, so I decided to add some blue and white sequins…..still trying to decide it I’m happy with that choice, but oh well, too late!!!

Playful Mermaid

Hi there πŸ™‚ I’ve had this little mermaid from LeAnns World 101 colored up for quite some time, and decided it was time to put Thessa on a card! I fussy cut her out, then set her aside, while I assembled the rest of the card. I embossed a piece of green cored paper with a seashell folder, then lightly sanded it. I also added a bit of green sparkle to a few parts of it. I layered this piece under some white card stock that I’d die cut with scalloped circle window. A purple sentiment, cut with a Penny Black die, and some clear acrylic “bubbles” finish this sweet card off.

Baby Animal Friends

Hi there πŸ™‚ I thought I had a number of baby boy cards in my stash, but nope….all I had was girls! I love this group of baby animals from Di’s Digital Stamps – I can’t find the exact image in her store, possibly because it was a freebie from somewhere – but there are so many adorable images to choose from! I colored it up with my Copics, then cut it out with a rounded and stitched rectangle die. I found a couple prints that looked good together, then layered them with a piece of white that I’d punched a scalloped edge on. A cool “congrats” sentiment was cut from a scrap of green, and backed with some white. I die cut a number of banner type decorations, then punched some stars to tie everything together.
